Privacy policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
Short version: this site has no accounts. Your gear, builds and settings stay in your own browser. The site shows ads from Google, which uses cookies (see below). This policy covers all of buildoptimizer.com, including both optimizers.
What stays in your browser
The optimizers save your stash, your builds, your saved builds and your settings in your browser's local storage, so they are still there next time. They are never sent to us. To delete all of it, clear this site's data in your browser settings (Clear in an optimizer's header empties just your stash and custom build).
Save files and exports
When you import or sync a Minecraft Dungeons save file, it is read and decrypted on your own device: in your browser, or by the optional sync helper running on your own computer. The save file is never uploaded anywhere. In the Minecraft Dungeons II optimizer, Export saves your stash, build and settings to a file on your device and Import reads it back, both entirely in your browser.
Share links
A share link holds the build in the address itself. Anyone you give the link to can see the build. When a share link is opened, our server reads the build from the address only to draw the link preview; it isn't stored.
Services the site uses
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Surge and served through Cloudflare. Like any web server, they receive the technical details every browser sends with a request, such as your IP address and browser type, and may keep them in their logs.
- Fonts. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when you visit.
- Ko-fi. The Support links go to Ko-fi. If you donate, Ko-fi and its payment provider handle it under their own privacy policies; we only see what Ko-fi shows creators.
Advertising and cookies
The site shows ads served by Google AdSense, which pays for the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure how ads perform.
- Visitors in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland are asked for consent first, and can change their choice at any time from the privacy link in the consent message.
- You can turn off personalised ads at Google's Ad Settings, or opt out of many third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
- How Google uses this data: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Apart from the ads, the site uses no cookies and no analytics.
Children
The site doesn't ask anyone for personal information, so it collects none from children either.
